William “Bill” Gallagher, 89, of Gulf Breeze passed away October 28, 2014. He was born in Brooklyn N.Y. on October 15, 1925. He was drafted into the US Navy and moved to Pensacola where he married Catherine Phipps. After serving 6 years in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, Bill worked at NAS Pensacola for 27 years as a aircraft electrician.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years and his brother, Raymond. He is survived by his daughter, Myra Thompson and her husband Bryan, his grandson, Jerry Stephens and his wife Ella and his great-granddaughter, Kirstyn and his grandson, Kyle Thompson.
Bill enjoyed watching The Price is Right and murder mysteries, and reading the newspaper. He enjoyed traveling to anywhere Myra lived and loved family above all else. Anyone who met him instantly became attached and treated him like family. His big blue eyes and ear-to-ear smile would light up a room. He was truly loved by all.

The family would also like to send a special thank you to all of the caretakers at Bay Breeze Nursing and Retirement center for taking such great care of him over the last 3 years.
